The Netherlands is a very beautiful country. There are no mountain views, to which a Pole is used to, in this area, however the cities and their architecture are really worth seeing.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Netherlands is its flatness. It is also a geographically low-lying country; about 25 - 30% of it lies below the sea level. For another 25% of the country flooding by the sea and rivers is a constant danger, but the extensive system of dams, canals and constant pumping out of water, protect the area from being flooded.
The Netherlands lies between the North Sea on the north and west, Germany on the east, and Belgium on the south. Known also as the Tulip Country, the Netherlands is very modern and constantly surprising the world with its civilization achievements. The country is also known for its liberal policies. There is no place for conservatism, because the primary motive force is economic political and social liberalism.
WINDMILLS
The first fact people recall about the Netherlands is a windmill. There is a large number of windmills in Netherlands and they can be seen not only in the countryside, but also in the middle of bigger cities.
They are really worth visiting and because the extremely important role they play in the county's history, they have their own celebration - National Windmill Day.
WATER
This element is closely related to Netherlands. Everyday struggle with the sea and the role of it in the lives of people in this country make us realize how important subject for them is water. As a result, year 2005 was established as a Water Year. 
In Netherlands we can visit many interesting places connected with the subject of water like: sea museums, theme parks water parks, Water Museum, monumental shipyards and pomp stations, dikes and systems of dams and the world's biggest port.
Picturesque appearance of water canals in the cities, complex network of rivers and lakes, including the biggest IJsselmeer created when an inland sea, the Zuiderzee, was closed by a dam, the Afsluitdijk with its old fishing villages; polders - areas of land reclaimed from a body of water and museum, where we can see how they are formed are places worth visiting.
Another thing worth seeing is the variety of boats adapted for living which are so extremely popular among people in Netherlands, who value alternative lifestyle and architecture.
This traditional and also modern beautiful architecture appears to be build upon water, fabulous coast with wide beaches and Friesian Islands, situated along North Sea coast; museums and other attractions presenting sea fauna and flora, dolphinarium, seal centre, waterbirds reserve are big attractions of this place. However, there are also excellent conditions to do watersports and to "travel on the bottom of the sea". All these attractions and more are waiting for you in Netherlands!

Netherlands are specialists in flower farming for many years and every year in the spring Keukenhof flower gardens, which have been the world's largest for over fifty years, are also a big tourist attraction.
People in Netherlands love flowers and are prominent bulb growers and exporters. Their flower exhibitions exchanges and parades, beautiful gardens presenting different styles, botanical gardens, arboreta, public gardens and "hofjes" - small garden squares, houses with nice large gardens, flowers in the windows, in the house and even it the workplace, prove they are really flower lovers.

Another feature that makes Netherlands attractive are bikes. It is even hard to imagine a person living in Netherlands without a bike and not using it in everyday life.
There are hundreds of perfect bicycle paths making it possible to travel all around the country. It is a real paradise for bicyclists and encourages spending vacation on two wheels.
